Hallmarks

• Cartilaginous distruction
• Bony erosions
• Joint deformity

Manifestations

• Women affected 3times more than men
• Occurs more frequent in 4th and 5th decades

Clinical symptoms

• Typical symmetric polyarthritis with pain
• Temperature
• Swelling on affected joints
• Most common are Morning stiffness and frequent fever

Investigations

• Rheumatoid factor present
• ESR raised

Symptoms

• Pain felt on lowerback,buttock,various parts of leg and foot
• Pain sometimes severe
• Numbness
• Muscular weakness

• Difficulty in controlling the leg

• Spinal stenosis
